In this article, we give you some ideas on how to enhance the outside of your shop. Following on from our article on shopfitting, this time we'll be talking about the importance of the shop front and window design.

Research shows that a person spends around 3 seconds in front of a shop window before entering the shop or moving on. Your offer must therefore be easily identifiable at first glance and attractive. 

How do you enhance the outside of your shop? 

You need to highlight the outside and the window of your shop, as these are the first two things your customers will see.

The objectives:

- Attract customers so that they stop and look at the window.

- Encourage them to come in.

The shop front

As obvious as it may seem, it's extremely important that the name of the shop is legible. The front should also be visible from a distance. If your shop is next to a busy road, or surrounded by other businesses, it's crucial that you stand out to attract the attention of passers-by. Make sure every detail is taken into account to add maximum visual clarity. Don't be afraid to rework logos or design choices if you feel they don't meet your expectations.

Colours should be harmonious, consistent and matching. Over 45% of shops have seen an increase in customers following a change of store front.

The shop window

Shop windows are in-store displays that help to attract new customers and retain existing ones. They are the best way to advertise your accessories or promotional items. An attractive window display can also have an impact on a customer's buying behaviour.

Here are a few ideas and tips for your shop window:

- Define a window renewal schedule: To maintain a dynamic image, your window should be renewed regularly (once a month, for example). It's essential to draw up a schedule that you can use to plan the layout of your window display in advance according to the arrival of products, the seasons and events. Don't forget that the window display must be consistent with the sales area (inside), because all the products in the window display must be easy to find in the shop and easy to access.

- Digital signage: The benefits of digital signage are obvious at first glance. It improves the appearance of your point of sale. It demonstrates your company's culture of keeping up with market developments. Digital signage is a unique solution. It allows you to display films, text, photographs, animations, social networks or events. - Products in the spotlight: The selection of items to display in your window should not be left to chance. Highlight trendy, promotional or original products.
